Yesterday we went back to Muar for hubby's high school friend's wedding. Today's dinner is for groom's family and friends and most of the bride's family and friends are from KL thus the bride side has held the dinner a week ago. This is kinda a Chinese tradition where bride should hold the dinner first even before the "koh mun" (step into the groom's family) ceremony. Anyway, we went back to Muar only about 1pm+ as hubby has to finish off some personal stuffs first.
The wedding dinner was held at Yong Sheng banquent hall which is only 5 mins drive from hubby's home at Muar. We went to the dinner only at 7:30PM and it has yet to start also. Met the groom, PY at the entrance and he dressed like prince charming, 白马王子. We congratulated him and then handed him the ang pow. We asked him where should we sit so he brought us in and look around and said "Ok, here will do!". I was curious and asked hubby...hmm..."How come there's no seating arrangement? Can just sit wherever as long as it's the table is listed as 'PY's fren' (友).

Anyway, the dinner started around 8PM+ and the menu was as usual 8 dishes + 1 dessert. But my only curiously was the 4th dish if not mistaken - Fish. It is written as Steamed Fish .... something and ends with (BYO). So what does the BYO meant here? Bring Your Own still?!! I looked on the left of the menu for the chinese version and saw it is written as (自来) but still unable to figure out what does it mean. Who cares as long as it's delicious. The food overall were so so only and again nothing much to expect from a small town like Muar and not to mention the sharkfin...yucks...just like glue and super salty!! Dinner ended around 10:30PM and we stayed back to chat with each other. I asked the bride, Christine about her schedule this morning as I heard from Esther that they traveled from KL to Muar very early morning today. Christine elaborated and said she woke up at 3AM in the morning and by 4AM her make up artist is here and she has to leave her house around 7AM as it is the auspicious time for them. Wow!!! 3AM what a day for her!!! Everyone continued to catch up with up other and around 11PM+, hubby and I headed for home. And once again congrats to PY and Christine! Both looked very lovely on that special night of theirs.
