Lucas's 3rd Birthday

Time flies and July 9th is baby's 3rd birthday. Well, I must agreed that seeing him growing up makes me feel old. I started to sound like an aunty who says those things such as "Aiyor, now he can slide on his own without me in the playground!" and as you know these are those sentences aunties always commented on grown up kids. ARGH!! July 9th was his actual day but we celebrated a day ahead on the 8th for him in his school. He's superb excited. The night before 8th, I went to collect the cupcakes which I have ordered earlier for him with his favourite Lightning McQueen. When I came back with cupcakes, I showed it to him and he's so so happy. Yiyi is so glad that you love it.

The next morning he woke up, he comes into my room to check out the cupcakes. Wondering why are the cupcakes in my room ya cos the cupcakes cannot be placed in the fridge but has to be somewhere cold. I figured out air-conditioned room would be best! After looking at the cupcakes, he smiled and eagerly get to changed to his uniform to get ready to school. My sis took leave this day and hubby is back from Alor Setar too.

Early morning, sis sent Lucas to school and then came back to pick me up. After that, we headed to Carrefour to collect those helium balloons. Hubby will be going there himself after meeting up with his friend in Sri Hartamas. When we reached Lucas's school, he is so delighted to see us. Hahaha, I'm so happy seeing him behaving so well. We took up the cupcakes, arranged it for the kids and snapped some photos for them. All the kids loves the cupcakes. Then we all sing a birthday song for the birthday boy but this Mr Cool is putting his hand on his chin! Really like Tai Kor!!

Last but not least yiyi wishes Lucas happy, healthy, smarty and goody. You must be a good boy, behaved yourself and listen to all of us ok? Yiyi loves you!

New Job 2011

Since I continued blogging after a one month break, I decided to update about my life status! Life is good except that hubby is not around ALL the time and yes, the previous post was dedicated to HIM!! Well, I'm in huge dilemma where I'm unsure of which one should I choose. Either Job A, B or C?? Previously I was looking for a better jobs and there are also very good opportunities but after a good though of it I decided to let it go cos I know my top priority in career is to have less stress or should I put it in an easier way which means easier job for me. Family is my top priority now and I wanna have kids (yup, it's in the plan and it's on going).

Ok, pardon me, where was I? Yup, dilemma between jobs - Job A offered me and I need to reply them while Job B and C has yet to revert. Job B and C are the jobs where I hope I can have it as the company offers better benefits compared to other companies. At the same time, Job A is also a new challenge which interest me as well. I thought so much about these "what if" questions which almost make me go insane!!! Some of the questions I thought of was "What if I agreed on Job A then Job B offers me?", "What if Job B and Job C also offer me" and etc. I can hardly breathe cos I felt there's a big rock in my heart!!! I know it sounded very kua cheong but seriously I really felt that way. I can hardly sleep and concentrate on doing my things, erm you might wondered, what is there for me to do since I'm jobless and yes you are right but what I meant here was about everything ler... even makan, berak, kencing or anything I also kept on thinking about the "what if". The reason being is because I have agreed to Job A verbally but kinda use a tactic to tell the HR that I'm currently out station and will only be back next week (they called to inform me about the offer last week) to buy more time for Job B and C to reply me on their decision. I felt very unethical and seriously very bad about this. Some might said it's ok cos I'm protecting myself but somehow, I just can't let go the fact that this is so damn unethical. When I was young (ok, now sudah tua ler) I think to do such decision is perfectly normal as we need more choices and don't restrict ourselves but now I felt very bad about doing this. But anyway, even I know it's unethical, I still did it (sad to say).

Whatever it is, I have did what I probably should not have or I should say what I must not have done, I made it clear to myself, if by Tuesday (which is yesterday cos it's Wednesday now) 7pm, still no updates from Job B and C, I shall complied to my verbal agreement to Job A where I said I would take the letter of offer on Wednesday. And guess what, no news from head hunter regarding Job B and C and even he is aware of my decision to wait until Tuesday 7pm, he text me at 6:30pm saying no news yet, he wouldn't agree more to take on green packet instead of asking me to give Job B and C more time. I think he also felt paiseh ler!! So, I'll be going to take my offer letter later and new company gets to wear casual everyday!! Yahoooooo!!!Hope this is a good try! Fingers crossed.

How can I ever end this torturing life?

Well, how can you faced the fact that you only get to see your partner 1.5 days per week for 4 consecutive months?  Perhaps some of you can do it with no problems at all but I can't handle and if there's a choice I would die die choose NOT to be in this situation. Working time calling your partner, he says "I'm in a meeting", after work called him and he replied "I still haven't take my shower and after shower I still need to continue with my work". What are all those answers?? FML!! Come on, this is not what I want. I have actually thought about it, if all these sacrifices are for a richer future, I would said I rather not to have a richer future!!!

VAT Tax Refund @ Heathrow Airport

Before traveling to Europe, I have googled about the VAT tax refund and read from there that most of them are getting back their refund like 2-3 months after. One of the worst I've read is that the guy only got it back like 18 months later and that was really long huh.

I am going to share about my VAT tax refund experience here. I purchased bags in Paris using my credit card and the staffs in the shop will asked you if the VAT tax refund to be credited back to the credit card which is most of the case. I'm not sure about using cash though, as in how do they refund the tax back to you if you're purchasing by cash. You can easily google about it and you can check out France VAT tax refund here as reference. There are only 2 simple steps to follow during VAT tax refund.

First things first, the customs do not care who did the VAT tax refund so long as the person doing it is the person who has filled in the VAT tax refund form (the shop will actually helped you to prepare one, so no worries). In the tax refund form, it is written as 19% tax but minus off those administration fee / handling fee / whatsoever fee it comes to 12% only but it's a lot still. So, don't freak out on why it is written as 19% but in the end they are giving you back 12% only.

Secondly, you must have your items for VAT refund with you, in case the officer wanna check it out. But in hubby's case, the officer just asked him whether the goods are with him and he replied yes and that's all.
You're done with the VAT refund and now you just need to check your credit card statement whether they have credited it back to the card. In my case, it just took them 2 weeks plus to refund it back to the credit card which kinda surprised me as I do not expected it to be that fast. Anyway, developed countries are more efficient than our own country right?! It has always been that way, sigh.

*If you are traveling around Europe and you have made purchases early in the trip, you will only need to do your tax refund at the last embarking country which means the last Europe country you are at before leaving back to Malaysia. In my case, we went from Kuala Lumpur --> London --> Paris --> Rome --> London --> Kuala Lumpur. Those bags were bought from Paris, thus making the VAT tax refund should be at London Heathrow Airport. You can also ask the staffs in the shop for any information on this.

Riot Romeo and Juliet

This is an interesting news I saw from E!Channel which creates curiosity in me that I decided to google about it and look what I have found. Check out the details of the story and also some related videos here. According to the news, they are caught kissing during a riot in Canada but the guy's dad was explaining in a way that they have actually been knocked down by police and the guy is comforting the girl perhaps by giving her a kiss?! Lolx. Anyway, it does looks like those storyline we saw from movies huh but this is based on true story. :]

Hubby's Birthday 2011

June 23rd is hubby's birthday but too bad this year he'll be at Alor Setar celebrating his birthday with colleagues. Though I'm still figuring out whether any surprises that I could think of for him. Below are 2 of the best choices that I could think of.

  1. Flying to Alor Setar on Wednesday night to give him a surprise (but I do not know which hotel is he staying at??!! So, could probably eliminate this)
  2. Fetching MIL to KL for his surprise party?? This sounds quite hard to achieve though.

OMG....or should I do nothing? That's pretty bad hor?? Any suggestions?

Happy Father's Day

Father's Day is just 2 days away and what have you got for your lovely daddy. Hmm..though my dad is not here anymore but I still remembered what he says about Father's Day. He once said that no one talked about Father's Day but everyone is talking about Mother's Day!! Lolx..he's kinda jealous though. Even though we could not be celebrating with dad again but he's still with us as always and we've been talking about him as if he's still around. So guys, take this opportunity to show your love to your dad while he's still around. Just to make sure you don't regret for not doing it at the moment he's not around.

Here's something cool I found out from ChurpChurp and this could be one of the more loveliest gift to dad. Check this out! Personalise a shirt for ur Dad! But in a form of an Oreo T-Card!
